Hi! It's good to see you again.

If you're a regular subscriber to Garbagems, then you'll know by now that I occasionally like to alter the hue of my introductory images. This may therefore present a 'Boy who cried wolf' kind of situation, but the picture you see above has not been altered; these are the original creepy colours. Skeptics may feel free to take a haunted walk / ride down River street at night.

For what it's worth, I'd love to see more unusually coloured street lights. We should also seriously think about installing more strobe lights and lasers in public places. If anyone knows who would be in charge of making these kinds of decisions for the City, please consider writing them a persuasive letter. For the greater good, of course.

Anyway, here's some crap I found...

(Gilmour, east of Cartier)

This arrangement of items looks kind of like a really poor attempt at a makeshift game of chess. Or maybe it's a chess variant, and I just don't understand the rules. Depending on how the chair is allowed to move from the 4 squares it currently occupies, it may be able to checkmate the fan in 10 moves or fewer.

But seriously, I can't guarantee that the fan is still functional, though I'm sure it would be fun to take apart.

(Maclaren, west of Metcalfe)

Looks like there's a serial sofa killer on the loose. His / her modus operandi seems to involve removing their victim's legs and leaving them to die on the side of the road. How cruel.

The one in front has a very nice fabric. May as well tear some off if you're interested.

(Gilmour, east of MacDonald)

As you can see, tonight was a good night for finding some very charming furniture. Both the bench and the armchair appeared to be very solid, and in functional condition. I'm not sure if the bench was originally stained yellow, but if so, it's in even better condition than I thought!

(Lisgar, west of Metcalfe)

This is a serious collection of mid-century gems! The sideways armchair, mops, and ironing board were all pretty nice, but the real highlights are the lampshades and seats on the right. I'll give you a clearer view in just a second, but I'd first like to direct your attention to the pile in the background. There was an air conditioner and some shelves back there, which
were evidently not outstanding enough to merit their own photo, but worth a mention.

Anyway, here are the goods:

The chairs are dressed differently, but they to appear to be twins. I hope they end being adopted into a loving home... where they receive a bath.
